This has been a most colorful fall and I hope you’ve had an opportunity to get out and enjoy the splendor! With just weeks before Thanksgiving, it’s a great time to take stock of how fortunate we are and all that we have to be thankful for. Whatever your family tradition may be, take time to give thanks for all that you hold dear, and with Veteran’s Day approaching, this includes thanking our service men and women for all that they have sacrificed and endured to provide us with the freedoms we have today.

Just as you may have much to give thanks for, there are those around us who are in need this holiday season. To help meet the needs of our community, Carol Sweitzer in our Customer Service department is once again heading up Jennings’ annual canned food drive. Give a donation of three cans of food to our technician when he visits your home for a service call anytime before November 19th and receive a one-time $5 discount off of your bill. Your canned food donations are supplied to the Akron Canton Food Bank through the WKDD collection station and help to provide a filling Thanksgiving dinner for those who might not otherwise have it. Last year we managed to collect 661 cans of food and our target this year is 800 cans. Please help us reach our goal and donate your canned goods!

I know you might have heard it mentioned that this coming winter is expected to be more bitter than the last, but a quick snapshot below of 2013’s winter may help jog your memory and inspire you to prepare for the cold months ahead:

  • Last year’s coldest temperature was -11 degrees, the record low for our area was recorded in 1994 at -20 degrees.
  • The average annual snowfall for Northeast Ohio is 47 ½ inches, but last winter we blew this average out of the water with 73+ inches for the year.
  • There was at least a trace of snow two-out-of-three days last winter (62 in all)

Think “comfort” and plan ahead to stay warm for the frigid temperatures we have in store. Don’t wait too long to have your furnace “Cleaned and Checked” and take advantage of our savings today. Also, if you have been considering updating your furnace to one of the new high efficiency units, it’s not too late to benefit from our preseason pricing. Check out this preseason pricing here as our offers have been extended!

Hoping you and yours enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I know that we here at Jennings are certainly thankful to you, our customers, for choosing us to serve your home comfort needs.

Thanks,

Mike Foraker
