I hope that your 4th of July weekend was spent with friends, family and neighbors and was filled with laughter as well as smiles. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for whatever plans you had in store and with any luck you now have a bit of a summer glow. I’d like to take a moment to honor the reason behind our celebration of 4th of July and thank each and every veteran and their family for the unbelievable service and sacrifice you have given to our country. Every Jennings truck sports the red, white and blue of our flag and we are proud to have the freedom to do business in this great country.
The passing of time tends to bring with it improvements in technology and, just as you may have noticed that with each 4th of July celebration the fireworks get louder, more colorful and unique, so too is our industry constantly changing and improving. We are now seeing a trend toward higher efficiency air conditioning in response to increased demand from customers for better efficiency ratings, etc. When given the choice between purchasing standard efficiency equipment and an item that offers higher energy savings, people are opting to pay a little more now to save a lot in the long run. In addition to cost savings to themselves, more customers now prefer energy saving equipment that reduces the demand for electricity as well as the emission of greenhouse gases. Regardless of your thoughts in regards to climate change and the resulting impact, saving on operating costs is certainly a no brainer.
Another trend we are currently seeing is the growing popularity of the mini-split heating and cooling market. What in the world is a mini-split you may ask? The mini-split is a small, wall-mounted unit that can heat and cool a room independent of duct work. The outside unit is still set on a pad, similar to your typical air conditioning unit, and connected to the indoor wall-mounted unit. These mini-splits can be a bit costly, but are energy savers. I installed a Mitsubishi mini-split in my office a year ago and it provides for all my heating and cooling needs. If you are interested in finding out more about our mini-splits to see if this would be a good solution for your home, feel free to give us a call!
We would like to thank all of you for making this the best summer yet at Jennings Heating and Cooling and hope you and your family continue to have a safe, enjoyable and comfortable summer.
